How to find the right coil spring for my car?

I need to replace the front coil spring on my 2000 ford taurus. I been told to find the spring code to find the right spring, they told me it should be on the sticker on the door. I found a code but it doesn't match any of the 4 code they gave me! They said there are only for codes for my car. The code on my car is EECC but they gave for code as follow: A. B. C. D. Which on is for my car? Am I looking at the wrong codes? Please help. By the way, am replacing it by myself and am going to buy a used one.

There's no "code" for springs & you would be better off to replace the struts at the same time, or at least replace both springs in the front AND unless you have the proper tools, you would be unwise to replace the part yourself… Anyway, here's a site that sells them

At this point in time no matter which Taurus you have there's only one frt spring set available from the major aftermarket folks, Moog, ACDelco and TRW… You can get original Ford parts, theyy will look it up by your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)… I'm with gramps… Get a pair of preassembled struts with mounts.

Why mess a round with the spring? You have struts on the front of your vehicle. If a spring broke it. Probably because the shock absorber part of the strut is bad and overworked the spring. Being a 2000 model year the upper strut mounts will also need replacing. Just go to Advance Auto and buy a Monroe "Quick Strut" to throw in. 3 bolts on top and a couple on the bottom and it's done. No messing around trying to locate parts that will end up being wrong and the vehicle sits for a week while you ship the wrong parts back!

GO to a " REAL " auto-parts store,… Not a self-serve box store… OR a FORD dealer parts counter

Somebody is jacking with you. I have seen videos on YouTube making fun of auto parts customers, but let me tell you. Some guys behind the counter are not much better. If you are a DIY'r, just replace strut and spring together. Several companies make them pre-assembled and it's a snap to put them in. There's what they call a "taxi package", but it will fit.
