Ford Taurus smells hot after driving?
I have a '99 Ford Taurus SE, 24 valve V6
It smells hot when we get home from any trips.
I constantly have to check the oil in it.
The car dealer we got it from had a newer engine put in it after it ran out of oil and seized up.
I swear I did regular maintenance to it. 5 quarts of oil burns pretty fast inside a month. Something was wrong with the first engine.
Are these engines notorious for problems? It's the only thing we have ever had issues with on the car.
Sounds like it could be a oil leak? Have you ever seen dripping oil or spots? If that's not it then check your oil filter.
- My heater core is hot to the touch that I remove my finger after 2-3secs normal? I reasently replaced my thermostat and hose going to my thermostat. My heater core is hot to touch and I'm wondering if it's normal on a 91 Ford ranger 3.0 v6 manual? There are no leaks on passenger side
- 90 Ford Ranger 2.9 exhaust smells like sulpher? Now it just has no power and dies while driving it but usually starts right back up. Sometimes I do have to wait a while before it starts.
- My transmission fluid is dark colored and smells burnt? 2010 Ford Fusion Sport The fluid smells burnt and is dark colored. The transmission still shift normally. I'm thinking that the fluid has been in there since dealer. I have found other parts in the vehicle like the air filter that was from dealer. The transmission filter is not serviceable.
- Ford 300 starts smoking from oil cap after 1 minute of runtime and radiator smells like a wet fire pit? It was running fine then it started acting hard to start off and smoking a little so I figured oil. Put some more in and it straightened up for a mile or so then started acting up worse. It began to have a knocking noise like an old diesel tractor. I don't understand what it is because it starts up just fine but won't run for more than a minute before it starts pudding and knocking. Also there are tiny pieces of rust chunks in the radiator and it smells like a wet fire pit.
