Could a clogged fuel filter cause a code P0300 to go off in my 2004 ford taurus?
My engine light went on. Got it checked at autozone and P0300 came up. My fuel gauge is also going nuts. I ll put $20 in which would give me a half tank. But I ll start the car and it will be at full, then I ll start the car later that day and it will be at three quarters. It is different literally everytime I start the car… I have no idea how much gas I have.
When they read the code at AZ, didn't they tell you what caused it? As for the gauge, likely a faulty sending unit.
YES, That is Random/Multiple Misfire code and can be caused by Low Fuel Pressure. You can check your fuel rail pressure. But it is never a bad idea to change the fuel filter. The fuel sending unit or wiring is causing your gage problems.
- P0300 Code on Ford Taurus but car runs fine? Hi, i have a 2006 ford taurus, only has 55,000 miles on her, and all of the sudden this code popped up on me today. The car had been driving fine, and still does. Definitely have not felt it missfire or buck at all. Despite a small exhaust leak, everything on the car is in great condition and has been running great. Should i be worried and does it need a fix?
