Bank 1 and Bank 2 too lean?
I have a 2004 ford taurus. About a month ago the CEL came on, ran to advanced auto to get a code and they said my bank 2 was too lean. Yesterday, got a code run again and they said bank 1 and 2 too lean. They said it was probably my oxygen sensors. The car has developed a rough idle when first starting up and has lost some power and acceleration. I plan to take it to a mechanic soon, but until then i'm trying to find out what the problem is. Any suggestions?
Maybe the plastic intake manifold is cracked the way they do on Fords.
Lean both banks, Not enough fuel, too much air. Clean the Mass Air Flow sensor ( Very common on fords), check fuel pressure ( restricted fuel filter), leak in the intake gasket. There's more that it could be. The first thing I would check is for a dirty MAF sensor and you can clean it with brake cleaner or you could buy the special cleaner that they make for it. Just be careful when cleaning it
First your Sensors are fine they detected a lean mixture! You have p0171 and p0174 with drivablity issues… It's usually the rubber hose to or elbow for the pcv valve… It may be one of a number of vacuum leaks. I'd take it to the Ford dealer, some Taurus had a revised hose kit that rerouted the Hoses for the pcv/ccv. Often you'll wait less then half hour. We had a few hundred of these with the Vulcan 3.0…
- 1998 Ford Mustang 3.8 V6 lean codes P0171, P0174 & P1151? I'm getting these codes and I can't exactly figure out what is causing this. Engine idles fine. Isn't misfiring or running rough. But it does surge a little bit when driving at about 35 mph. Hasn't died on me once either.
- Where is the bank 1 02 sensor located at? I have a 06 ford focus zx4 2.0L and I got a code the other day and it's for an oxygen sensor bank 1 where is that located at?
- Drove over hill too fast and car is making a thumping noise? I have a 2003 ford focus. Today I was driving and went to make a turn fast and went up a hill and it hit my car and made a loud noise. When pulled up my car started making a thumping noise I thought that it was the tire but when I popped the good and accelerated while in drive the engine was moving up it's still running fine but moving and making a thump when accelerating. What could be wrong with it please help.
- Lifted F150 forward lean? I have a 2012 Ford F-150 with a FabTech 4' lift, 35' tires and 20' rims. The truck sits taller in the back by 1-1.5 inches. I know most stock factory trucks have that, what could it be? The truck drives flawlessly, no issues whatsoever.
