2002 Ford Taurus Error Code P0316/P0301?

So I just financed a used 2002 Ford Taurus in Denver Colorado. It's currently at 70,100 miles. It was an "as is" deal. No warranties.

Today my check engine light (flashing while driving) came on and I headed down to autzone to find out what it was. I got P0316/P0301 so obviously cylinder 1 is misfiring. The car also rumbles a ton when stopping or at a dead stop.

In terms of fixing it what could it be and about how much would it be?
In regards to the used car dealer, what can I do?

It could be as simple as changing the plug or wire. Price depends on location and if you use a dealership or not.

Depends on how long it's been since you purchased it, but generally, nothing. You may be covered under the old Lemon Law thing, but I've never known this to work. "As is" means just that. Not to worry, though, I doubt it's a major deal. I don't hear of cylinder problems too much today.

After the plugs and wires, it could be a fuel/air mixture problem or something else, depending on the vehicle (carb or injector) and so on.

I've done some work on older vehicles, but I'm not an expert. But, worse, my uncle is a used car dealer, I'm ashamed to say and admit.
