Could be a number of issues like weak fuel pressure… Weak pump or clogged filter…, or a bad MAP sensor or TPS, dirty MAF sensor, etc. A qualified shop can test for proper fuel pressure and see if the MAP or TPS or MAF have issues… Or check for other problems. Might be due for a tuneup, filter changes and general cleaning of items like the IAC, MAF and TB along with cleaning injectors given the age of the car.

Hi hardly surprising given it's age and if it has done the average mileage each year of some 12,500 miles. The engine is simply worn out.

- In drive I push down on the gas pedal but the car won't move. It will then jump and drive normally? Question: as I put my car in drive and push on the gas, my car will make the sound as it should if it were actually moving, but doesn't at all even if I floor it. Then finally it will just jump and start driving normally. I have a 2003 Ford Explorer and yes my engine light is on. Even if I stop at a red light this will happen. Any info is appreciated.
