Should i buy second hand ford ikon?

Ford Ikon 1 year old good condition
Price 1 Lakh
Should i consider buying it?

Added (1). ford ikon was discontinued this year in my country because of BS4 norms

The Ford Ikon is a very good car to drive, amazing handling, grip and comfort.

The petrol model of the ikon has 2 engine options:
1. The sporty 1.6 ltr engine which guzzles fuel.
2. The not so sporty but good enough 1.3 ltr(This also comes in RoCam)

The car is well built and is more than capable of taking to the tortures of the Indian roads.
But being a Ford it has its problems:
1. Vibrations, now how can that be bad? It loosens most of the integrated components(Anything that is joined to something else is in trouble)
2. The quality of materials isn't that great nor are the hydraulics like the power steering(Have seen them go kaput much earlier than expected)
3.Fuel efficiency is not one of its strong points
4. Servicing a car that is out of production is difficult(if it were an old model of honda city, I would say go for it as the model is upgraded and sold so the essential parts can still be available.)
5. Ford servicing in the place where you live, I have no idea regarding that.
6. Parts are one of the costliest in the petrol fords and tatas.

If its a diesel engine, all the above points hold true except 6th point.
The 1.4 ltr TDCI engine is a jewel of an engine and provides very good mileage, but is prone to rattles and other annoying disturbances.

But given the cost of the vehicle in the question I'm inclining my answer more towards the petrol Ikon.

My inputs are from driving the vehicle over a long duration of time, what bothers me is a well maintained Ikon should cost a little more.
Please take someone knowledgeable about cars when you go to inspect the car.
Check for functioning electricals, brakes, gears(all of them), shifting quality, rusting if any.

Most of all take a test drive in one of the places where you would be driving the car, that would give you a better picture so as to how well this car is suited for your needs.

Wish you all the luck, if you have further questions please to mail me.

What one year old car for just one lakh. That's a jack pot pricing if the car is in great shape and perfectly running conditions. Please check the car thoroughly or take a known good mechanic along with you to inspect the car.
