Why does truck want to turn off?
I was at the drive thru at mcdonalds when all of a sudden the truck (04 ford ranger) started trembling then turned off. I freaked out and turned it back on. It turned on with no problems but then started the whole trembling thing again so I got out of line and parked. I'm currently parked and the truck is in a cycle of going up to 1k revolutions then slowly going down to 500 revolutions then almost turning off then shooting back up to 1k revolutions. What's the problem? Is the engine shot?
Why not scan the computer for the codes?
Sounds like an idle air system issue.
- What do i need to make my truck an off road truck? I have a 2998 ford ranger. 4.0/ manual. What do i need to make my truck a good off roading pre runner? (Suspension, light, fenders)
- My Ford Transit headlights turn on in off position and turn off in the on position? I'm a new driver, just passed my test. My van has some issue with the lights: namely, the lights turn off in the on position when the dash lights come on, and turn on when they are supposed to be off. This means that I'm driving at night without dash lights as I need to have the lights switched off in order for my headlights to be on. Might this be an electrical issue? Would anybody be able to give me advice and possibly know how much this costs to repair?

- Why does my truck overheat when I turn the heater on? I own a 1989 ford f150 standard cab 2wd 4.9L 5-spd manual. When ever I turn my heater on (winter) and it starts blowing hot air, my temperature gauge starts moving towards hot. I find this very strange because I'm pretty sure it's supposed to take heat away from the engine.
