Truck stalling and making white smoke on highway?

It's been happening this week and been doing it ever since when I go over around 65mph. My thermometer on the dash says its on the cooler side, but what's been happenening is when I go down the highway, it feels like someone switched gears from let s say 2nd to 8th (just an example) kinda like if you started in 2nd or 3rd furing takeoff. The truck rattles and sounds like it's about to stall and as soon as it does, a puff of white smoke comes from the exaust. Then when I start it up more white smoke comes out Then I can drive normally back on the highway until I get to high speeds. It's a 1993 Ford Ranger XL 2.3 4cyl. I went mudding in some pretty deep mud and I noted the alternator has been acting up and stalling sometimes on the road but that s a different problem than this one. The radiator was super muddy and I flushed it, but I didn't do a full engine flush. I just kept spraying a water hose until the water from the drain hole was clear. If anyone knows anything that could help that would be great.

Blown head gasket.

Check the coolant level. If it's too low the actual temperature won't register on the gauge. White smoke in the exhaust could be a blown head gasket. Check the oil and if it's milky looking that's coolant in the oil. Again, blown head gasket.

  • White smoke coming from exhaust, Ford Zetec 1999 petrol? I have no other problems with the car, it has 1/2 tank petrol, and oil. At first I thought it may be the cold but, it happens too often for that.
  • Car shakes still? My 94 Ford Taurus shakes on the highway. 65-80 mph and after 80 it stops? I've gotten new tie rods, a realignment, new breaks, and resurfaced rotors, and it still happens to shake even though the mechanic said that the problem was the rotors being warped. Before I spend more money on the damned thing I was wondering if anyone here had some insight to why it's still shaking on the highway. One thing I've noticed is that when I accelerate a chirping sound ensues and chirps faster as I go faster? Any ideas? Please?
  • When I start my truck my RPM's are very low (almost stalling) until I tap the gas? I'll start the truck and the RPMs will sometimes automatically go to below 1 then start dying out. I have to tap the gas quick and the RPM's will jump to around 3 then it will start the idle process. The truck runs fine otherwise I'm just concerned it might cause future problems. Is my throttle just getting stuck or something? 2003 Ford Ranger 2.3 4 Cyl Standard 160,000 Miles
  • Ford focus is stalling and buckling after stop? So about a month or so ago my ford focus started acting up. It kept stalling and buckling after a complete stop, but runs just fine after getting up to speed. About a week or so after that started, the "check engine" light came on. I'm taking it to the shop soon I was just hoping someone would maybe tell me what's going on with my car please?
