Transmission fit in a truck?
Okay so I have a 98 Ford ranger 4.0 4x4. And the transmission went out. And I found a couple transmissions. And I'm wondering if they will fit. I think they will but want to make sure. The trannys. Are from a 2002 ranger 4.0 4x4. And the other from I think 01 4.0 4x4. If they fit what all will I need to do different or will they just bolt up with no problem thank you
You're good 97-04 from the same engine. If it's full and won't move then don't bother with the adjustments or trying to do a fluid/filter change it won't work
A good salvage yard could give you a list of what years will fit your explorer. During those years the 4.0 changed from a very dependable, long lasting, high mileage push rod engine to that stupid ohc morphadyte, concoction, timing chain eating engine. Not sure if the bell housing changed our not. I doubt it would but don't know. The '00 and'01 are the same. Don't trash it yet. There are two band adjustments on the side of the tranny. Try tightening those first. If you pull the pan, look for a blown out gasket around the overdrive servo. It will make a soft shift into overdrive. You may also get ratio error codes on the band adjustments and the servo cap gasket. It is basically squarish with 4 bolts in each corner. Be very careful what fluid you use. Check your manual. Mercon V I think…
- What is a good 5/6 speed Transmission that will fit onto a 302 Ford V8? I have a 1970 Ford Torino 500 and my C4 trans is failing. I'm kind of tired of the 3 speed, so I'd like to upgrade to a 5 or 6 speed to get better gas mileage at higher speeds, plus to go faster in general. I don't really mind if it's automatic or manual, but my car right now is set up for automatic.
- Will a 2006 taurus auto transmission fit a 2004 ford taurus? I have a 2004 ford taurus with an auto transmission. At first it was jumping out of overdrive, now it won't go in to overdrive and it slips.
- Will my f150 toolbox fit a ford ranger truck bed? I just sold my old f150 after engine finally **** the bed after 215,000 miles(she was a trooper) I'm gonna get a ranger next however just because its more efficient on gas. I was wondering if my old tool box will fit for it, or will I have to spend another 200 bucks on a tool box?
- Does a carseat fit in this truck? We're considering buying a 2000 ford ranger xlt. Its the 4 door version. We haven't met up yet I just don't want to waste my time if our daughters carseat can't fit. She's in a front facing carsear now and I was hoping someone would know if this truck will work for us.
