Need Mechanic Assistance with a 93 Ford Ranger XLT. 3.0 V-6?
When I bought it. I needed a tranny and thermostat housing. - Did that. I moved here last year, I'm not from here and do not have a mechanic here. I live on a fixed income. So can only do so much at a time. So… I was driving yesterday - did fine. Today drove it and it acts like it is not getting any gas. To the point that I have to pull over. It did this, once before. But, it worked again and, it needs work! Still! I've replaced the tranny, the thermostat housing, spark plugs n wires. My battery was stolen, so replaced that at a Pull n Pay. It was suggested that it may be the gas filter, coil pack or crank sensor; ? I ran most of the old gas out. I put 10.- in, in July and yesterday. I COULD Really USE YOUR Help.
I'd start with the Fuel Filter. With the fuel line disconnected you can check the pump output. Get a container. Crank for 3 seconds, you should pump about 4 fl oz. Check your Air Filter too. And if you can, check your Spark Plugs too.
- What tools do I need to change my brake pads? Explain in plain English to a non-mechanic. Send pictures even? Alright before I get into this, let me explain that I'm a 17 year old girl that has no one to do my brake pads, and I'm unable to transport my car to a shop. Recently bought a car that needs a brake pad change and decided it'd be a good learning experience to just do them myself. I've seen them done and also decided that if I **** something up that's my own problem. I have a 2005 Ford Taurus. My e-mail is nyarseniccatnip@gmail.com (Haha. Ironic.)
- Would a long travel suspension kit built for a Ford Ranger Edge/Sport also fit on a Ranger XLT? I found a long travel suspension kit made for a 2002 ranger edge/sport but I have a XLT same year. Would it still fit on and function the same?
- My mechanic put 5w30 oil in my ford ranger instead of 5w20. What could go wrong? Took my 2007 2.3L ford ranger in for an oil change, and they put 5W30 oil in it instead of the 5W20 that is shown in the book. Will this cause any problems, should i call them and have it changed/?
- My buddy has a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that is leaking oil from rear passenger wheel. Any ideas on why? The brake cover is not pushed all the way against the hub. There's a half inch gap between them. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. So it has nothing to do with the wheel bearing?
