My trucks surging and sputtering, coughing what's wrong with it?

I had my mechanic fix my slave cylinder 3 weeks ago and since then my truck has been surging, sputtering, and coughing. He says I just picked up bad gas but I have run the gas out, I have put seafoam in it, gas cleaner, and injector cleaner in it, and the issue has not been fixed. I also changed the spark plugs and wires to be sure it wasn't them, Sometimes I can put gas in it and it will act better or sometimes when I put gas in it, it acts worse. Somedays I can drive it all day without it acting up. Really tired of the surging and I don't think its just bad gas its been 3 weeks already. Help please. This all started after they changed the slave cylinder on my 97 Ford Ranger 2.3L

Classic vacuum leak symptoms. Someone knocked a vacuum hose off. Wonder who did it?

Well considering it started doing it after the mechanics shop i'd say them but they had no reason to go under the hood other than to put in hydraulic fluid, the only time I ever go under the hood is to check fluid levels, I had already considered a vaccum hose anyway and checked all of them, none seem to be off or have a hole in them, I've taken it to 2 shops now and they both said bad gas without looking of course it was running fine at the moment at the second one. It isn't all the time either sometimes it works fine other times it doesn't and it hasn't shut off so far or tried to die.

Try the o2 sensor had the same problem on one of my trucks
if not take it back to him and complain
