How to know if my 2000 ford ranger has pulse vacuum hub locks?
My 2000 ford ranger 4x4 xlt. 4.0 engine, has been making a humming noise for some time now on the front driver's side hub. And I know what wheel it is. I looked for prices online but it gives me 2 options. With or without pulse vacuum hub locks. I'm handy, so I was wondering if anybody could tell what steps to take in order for me to physically find out, or the differences between both hubs. I've asked in many autoshops and they don't know. And some mechanics, but they want to charge me in order to find out.
Assuming your talking about the hub assembly for the 4wd, is it a electronic 4x4 selector or the lever on the floor?
- Speed pulse wire location? Today i had to take the stereo out in my Ford Galaxy 2002. Anyway, as i done it the speed pulse wire (thin purple wire) came away from the yellow plug and now i don't know where it goes. As a result my cruise control has stopped working and i have no Automatic Volume Control displaying on the stereo when i scroll through. Does anyone know what pin the damn wire is supposed to be connected to please. Explain in idiots terms:-)
- Power windows and power door locks not working on my ford ranger? I have a 2000 ford ranger lte and the power windows, door locks, and power mirrors are not working… Where is the fuse? Are they all on the same fuse? What do you think I need to check?
- My 2000 Ford Ranger 6 Cyl 3.0 L has been overheating. Pretty sure its a radiator problem but odd symptoms? Truck exhaust will puff moderate amount of white smoke (every now n again) on cold startup but will subside after engine warming up.Truck "Was" overheating until i put more coolant in but realised cap was steaming along with coolant reservoir (reservoir was also bubbling). So i bought a new radiator cap. I got a safety cap and after installing I drove a little and engine temp goes to red really fast. What could it be? Thermostat? Water pump? Blown head gasket?
- I have a 1999 ford ranger and i have coolant in one of my vacuum lines? Its the red line that runs to the egr vacuum mod on the passenger side of the motor. The part that the egr line goes to as well. I'm not sure why I have coolant running through a vacuum line. This causes coolant to run to the egr valve so I need to fix it
