Ok so i have a 86 Ford ranger that is a pos and so the radio doesn't work, but i have this old speaker box with a aux cord that is meant to be plugged into a wall outlet so i was trying to figure out a way to hard wire it into the truck because i only have one cigarette lighter socket and don't want to have to have it permanently occupied by a converter. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

If the radio doesn't work then any speaker will not work. What do you mean by AUX cord, I think you mean a power cord that supposed to plug into the wall electrical outlet. That will not work. Replace the radio then install some car speakers, not home speakers.

If you want to play that speaker with some portable entertainment driving it, fine. You need to power it. It probably needs about 12-14 volts to run. Look in it and find its power supply circuit. It contains a power transformer and rectifier. Measure the output voltage after the rectifier to see what it is and if it's 12-14 volts, you can run it off your car's DC voltage there. If what I just said makes no sense, stop where you are, put the speaker back in the closet and go to the salvage yard and buy a used Ford radio that came out of an '86 Ranger or equivalent and replace the dead stereo- plug and play.
