Hazard lights won't work when in drive?
So in every car I've ever driven the hazards work regardless of what gear you're in. But I just bought a 1991 Ford ranger a couple months ago and realized the hazards will not work when in drive. I have to either be in park or neutral. When I'm in drive and turn them on they just stay lit up solid. As soon as I throw it in park they blink like they should. I haven't needed to use them in drive but it was something I noticed when I hit hazards on accident. Can anyone explain this? Is it something to do with the model or year? Never seen this before.
On some models, as soon as you touch the brakes it cancels the
4-ways.
- Why are my blink lights / brake lights working? I have a 72 Ford f100 and the rear left turn signal, brake ligh, hazard light isn't working. The light workings for "running lights " but does not blink or light up when I press the brake. I replaced the bulb. I don't know where to start
- 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
- My brake lights won't flash when I drive? Okay so I got pulled over and given a fix it ticket for my brake lights. I drive a 1995 Ford tauros. All my light work fine. When I turn on my head lights my brake lights come on to but they just won't flash when I'd I step on my break pedal. Thinking about replacing the light bulb but not sure since they do come on when I turn on my head lights at night so they work?
