2007 Ford Ranger rear end jerks on acceleration after a downshift at about 20 MPH?
2007 Ford Ranger 28,000 miles, 8.8" Rear axle 3:18 gears auto trans. Every now and then when I accelerate from around 20 MPH and the truck downshifts there's a small jerk in the rear end a second after the downshift. Is this normal? I just bought the truck and never had RWD before. If someone knows what the problem is that would be awesome!
I would check the U joints
You drive a ford. That's the problem.
- Car shakes still? My 94 Ford Taurus shakes on the highway. 65-80 mph and after 80 it stops? I've gotten new tie rods, a realignment, new breaks, and resurfaced rotors, and it still happens to shake even though the mechanic said that the problem was the rotors being warped. Before I spend more money on the damned thing I was wondering if anyone here had some insight to why it's still shaking on the highway. One thing I've noticed is that when I accelerate a chirping sound ensues and chirps faster as I go faster? Any ideas? Please?
- 2002 ford Taurus cuts off a few secs after acceleration? OK my Taurus cranks and starts but she's shaking and sputtering like she's struggling to stay alive. When I press on the gas she dies. I have no problem cranking her back up. What's wrong with my baby?
- How to decrease the amount of backlash in my Ford 8.8 rear end? I know I can change my ring gear and pinion gear but is there a way to shim the pinion gear? Any suggestions?
- Ford 8.8 rear end problem? In my crown vic I picked up a used ring gear and pinion and both were in good shape so I swapped in them in place of my stock gears I used the same bearings and factory shims just a gear swap no overhaul since it wasn't needed now I got it all together and there's a noise coming from the rearend its not exactly a whine but the only thing i'm unsure of was setting the pinion. Would that cause a noise?
