2000 ford ranger xlt 4x4 with engine problems?
It also has a 3.0l v6. I have posted a few times about it. Anyways, it pings like hell when it is above idle speed. I thought it might be the crankshaft sensor or the knock sensor. The check engine light is on and it has a slight miss at idle. I have changed plugs, wires, oil, filter, and added injector cleaner, high octane fuel, and a lucus oil additive. It is quite at idle now, but at higher rpms 2-4000, it pings like crazy. What's going on? Bad sensor? I took it to a shop to get the cel read and it came up as an unreadable code…
Take it to Ford Dealer and have them decode the light and fix it. I would suspect the egr valve.
- Would a long travel suspension kit built for a Ford Ranger Edge/Sport also fit on a Ranger XLT? I found a long travel suspension kit made for a 2002 ranger edge/sport but I have a XLT same year. Would it still fit on and function the same?
- What to do with a Ford ranger xlt 4x4? I'm going to be getting either a 99 or 2000 Ford ranger xlt 4x4 v6 or 4 cylinder, my question is, what can I do to make it look awesome? Or more fun to drive? Both are red and both are manuals! Also, are these trucks fun to drive? Oh, and they are both extended cabs! And the 2000 is the v6! And which would you recommend?
- Possible engine swap from 3.0 to 4.0 on 1994 Ford Ranger XL 4x4 manual? I'm wondering if I can drop a V6 4.0L engine straight into a V6 3.0L Ford Ranger XL? Both are 1994 ford rangers, everything the same as far as model/year just different size engine… And if not, what would need to be converted? I found a 4.0 for $250 with 0 miles so if its as simple as swapping engines/trannys I'm going to go for it… Thanks for help!
- My buddy has a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that is leaking oil from rear passenger wheel. Any ideas on why? The brake cover is not pushed all the way against the hub. There's a half inch gap between them. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. So it has nothing to do with the wheel bearing?
