On a 2000 ford ranger, will driving it without a catalytic converter cause valve issues?

My ford ranger has had the cat removed (not by me!) and it is causing an O2 sensor code, of course, and an overly rich exhaust and poor fuel milage. Now, I know it needs fixed and I will when I get the time to get it to a muffler shop, but my question is, will driving it for a little while right now cause any valve trouble or any damage elsewhere?

A missing downstream 02 sensor would never be the cause of a rich mixture. Only the upstream sensor controls air/fuel mixture

It will damage the O2 sensor but nothing else.

Should be fine

  • Will a catalytic converter for a 6cyl 3.0 work on my 4 cyl 2.3? I own a 2004 Ford ranger with a 2.3L engine, but I wasn't able to find any catalytic converter for a good price, so I was wondering if a catalytic converter for a 3.0L would work fine on my car, since Catalytic converters for that engine are more widely available, thus cheaper. Btw I need the rear Catalytic converter, thanks
  • Do I need a catalytic converter? I have a 2000 Mustang Ford V6 3.8L I looked under the car and I did not see 1 catalytic converter, I saw some pictures supposedly I has 4? But mine just has 2 long pipes that just go from the engine to the mufflers and then exhaust pipe. It smells like gasoline when I start up the car. Will this damage anything?
  • P420 Code. O2 Sensor or Catalytic Converter? I drive a 2012 Ford Focus manual 5 speed. I recently had a P0420 code come up in my check engine light. Driving wise, the car runs fine. It runs smooth idle with no bumps or hiccups. Would this code more than likely point to the O2 sensor vs converter since the car is driving with no problems. **One thing that did recently happen was the cruise control has stopped working as well as the gear shift light stopped illuminating**
  • How to check fuel pressure on a 2001 ford focus without a schrader valve? How do you check fuel pressure on a 2001 ford focus without a schrader valve - manual says to splice into fuel in engine compartment - but line has "non-repairable" written on it.
