Why won't my 1996 Ford Mustang sell on Craigslist?
I have a 1996 Ford Mustang 5 speed manual v6 with brand new clutch and only 1996 miles on it I got a couple buying but everyone offers me like 1 grand for it and it's like are you serious I'm trying to sell it because I'm 18 years old and want to buy a 1993-1997 Nissan 240SX so I can build a drift car.
Trade in value is $825 per NADA
Retail price is (what a dealership with overhead to cover would ask for, but probably not get) is about $1900
Private party (what a person selling the car themselves) price is around $1500
If you're selling on Craigslist, you will get lowballed. Realistically, you can reasonably expect around $1250-$1500, provided everything works (A/C, power windows/locks, etc.) and the interior is in good condition.
The problem is that these cars are very common. The V6 models simply don't hold their value well at all. A GT model with the same mileage/same year is worth about double what your car is worth.
Your car is not worth $2500, and you'll be hard pressed to find someone willing to pay that much for it.
I got about this much ($1000) as trade-in value for a 1997 GT when I got my 2014 GT.
You car is one year older and it is a V6…
No one wants a car that has been owned by a teenager. They figure it's been abused by a young driver just leaning. You might do better by letting a car lot sell it for you on consignment. That's were they take a small commission for selling it.
1,996 miles on a 1996 Mustang? Sonuds fishy to me. Also a V6 Mustang is NOT a real desirable car.
The reason it isn't selling is because it is the shape that nearly killed it off completely and it is the V6 version.
It's rusty and old, what do you expect. Take the $1000.
Bring it over. That's just what I want.
Ask me. I'll comeandget it.
Well what are you asking for it. The V6 doesn't sell as well as the V8 does. Body damage? That will effect the sale same as interior how does that look.
I meant 185K miles sorry guys.
Do not accept any low ball offers. You want $$$$ for the car stick with the price say no.
If you want my advice, get rid of those sh*tty hubcaps. That should increase the value by atleast 200 bucks.
- Will Ford still sell the 2014 Mustang GT's next year? So I'm thinking about purchasing a Ford Mustang GT (next year). But I really like the current model more than one they are releasing for next year. So my question is, will Ford still sell 2014's next year? Are dealerships even allowed to do that?
- What is the best way to sell a 2014 Ford Mustang that is in great condition? I have a loan that won't be paid off for awhile. Is there any possible way to sell the vehicle so that they take over the payments or pay in full? I do not want to trade or owe any amount on the vehicle once it is sold.
- Should I just sell/trade my 1996 Mustang and buy a 240sx? I really want to sell/trade my 1996 Ford Mustang 5 speed 6 cylinder for a 1993-1997 Nissan 240SX to make a street/track racing or drifting car but whenever I offer my car for there 240SX they say no thank you and I'm just trying to sell it on Craigslist for atleast $2500 to make a profit it has a brand new clutch one rust spot on rear wheel well that's not even that bad and only has 185K miles on it.
- Is 2000 a low ball offer on a 2700 dollar car on craigslist? He stopped messaging me after i offered that. Its a 2000 ford expedition, looks really good, 190k miles
