Why is it that ford mustangs feel so stiff and bulky?
Every mustang Gt from the years 79 up to 2004 feel like they have stiffer pedals suspension and steering than other cars I've driven why is this?
Those older Mustangs where not particularly "refined". For years it seemed American car companies didn't realise that there where roads with corners, and that handling was important to many people. They made some pretty good performance cars, as long as you only wanted to go in straight line. If you came to a corner, they steer like a barge.
A Japanese or European performance car might not have the hp and straight line speed, but it's generally lighter handles a lot better. Every Mustang until the latest model had awful suspension.

- Why is it that when someone owns a Chevy/Ford/Mopar they feel the need to rip on every other brand of vehicle? I mean it's as if they were getting paid to advertise their opinion. Just because you're a loyal Ford fan boy doesn't mean that Chevys are complete garbage. I drive a Ford but I don't go around trash talking everyone who likes Chevys.
- Stiff power steering problems? My car has been giving me some steering problems lately. When i start the car in the morning, the steering feels normal and light. But after driving for a small period of time, it becomes really heavy and difficult to use 1 handed. Any reason as to what could cause this? PS. The car is a 2004 Ford Falcon(Australia) Cheers, Reece
- Steering wheel becoming stiff even when driving forward, why? My 2005 ford freestyle steering wheel was making noise the power steering fluid was leaking had the pump changed, but now a squeling noise is coming from the front and the steering wheel is becomin stiff when turning… What can this be?
- Why don't I ever see fox body ford mustangs anymore? Hell even SN95s for that matter? It Just seems I don't see mustangs hardly at all anymore. What's going on. I use to be able to spot one from a mile just because of how they sound alone.
