What do I need to put on my exhaust?

I have a 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8L v6. Yes I know it's a v6 but I can't afford a v8. I really don't know much about cars when it comes to what makes it go. Maybe you can help. I want to put dual exhaust on my stang. Every site I see it says flowmaster 40 is the way to go. That's not really a concern at this point as to what type. But I look online and the flowmeter 40 is a muffler? I'm confused. So is the the two pipes a completely different thing? What exactly is the exhaust? And if I get duals do I need two flowmasters? If someone could elaborate I'd greatly appreciate it!

Yes, the flowmaster makes exhaust systems, cats, headers, pipes, and mufflers. The 40 series, the super 40, 40 series delta-flow are all just mufflers.

When you have a V6 or any V-engine you can have a Y-pipe or… 2 systems, then yes 2 mufflers, so 2 of everything.

So yes, if you get dual exhaust you need 2 mufflers and 2 cats, then of course 2 headers too.

If your not racing forget about dual exhaust, just do a cat back with the muffler of your choice.

I would just get another exhaust tip and hang it out the back of the car. You can't get much power out of a V-6 and a V-6 sounds like s*() at best.

If you install this I can't guarantee you will get your money back… But if you don't care about waisting money then get it done you may get a 20 hps that's it. Which in a car with your weight would get a phew tenths faster than stock so is it worth it

Don't waste your money on a "gelding". Just leave the car quiet and un-obnoxious… If you foolishly make it louder, people will only point and laugh…
