What are the pros and cons of the 2014 mustang v6 automatic?
What are the pros and cons of the 2014 mustang v6 automatic? I will soon be purchasing a new car and have always wanted a mustang. I have decided to get the 2014 instead of the 2015 because it will be cheaper. Does anyone know about any significant pros and cons?
Only the automatic. Doesn't it come with standard?
Pros.
more power than most regular cars. With slightly over 300 hp, the mustang has more power than most regular cars like Hondas, Toyotas, and other Fords.
It's got RWD which may suck on snow but it lets you do donuts, burnouts and drifts.
the mustang has better than average rear seat and trunk space compared to other entry level sports cars.
cons.
the mustang will use more fuel than regular cars.
as a sporty car, the mustang is quite heavy and tall with a soft suspension making it not nearly as agile as it's japanese or korean competition (still better than the Dodge Challenger)
as a sporty car, an automatic gearbox won't let you use all the available engine power due to loses from the fluid coupling. Once engaged the clutch of a manual has a direct 1 to 1 connection between the engine and gearbox meaning less losses and much better response in performance from the car. Manuals at that price range are still faster than automatics (when you start getting into BMW M3 type territory automatics become faster). They also let you mess around with the car a bit easier. Drifts, donuts and burnouts are easier done with a manual.
personal suggestions
I would go with a Hyundai Genesis 2.0T and modify it a bit. Comparing all the entry level RWD sports cars (Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ, Hyndai Genesis Coupe, Ford Mustang V6, Chevrolet Camaro V6, Dodge Challenger V6) the Genesis offers a great mix of power and agility putting it in between the japanese lightweight FR-S and the american pony car trio. The best part of all is that the Genesis is actually quite easy to modify. With a turbo engine, basic bolt on parts like a cold air intake, performance exhaust and ECU tune can get you to match the power of the american cars. Considering that the Genesis is lighter it means better performance.
if you still envy the agility of the japanese FR-S/BRZ then the factory option lowering springs, anti roll bars and limited slip differential will make it much more agile. If this is still not enough, some adjustable coilovers can lower the center of gravity even more, reduce roll and better tune performance over bumps.
a slightly modded Genesis coupe will be better that all the other entry level RWD sports cars at every aspect of performance. For many people Hyundai isn't really the first brand that comes to mind when you think performance but their latest efforts developing their whole brand in all aspects of car features has been amazing. Hyundais of the past were a joke but they are now putting on serious pressure for economy cars, family cars, luxury cars, sports car and even SUVs.
I own a 2014 Mustang V6 Convertible with a 6 speed manual. Pros, It's a blast! I love my car! I'm always getting compliments on my car. It has enough get up and go. I can Bluetooth two phones and my ipod at the same time.Nice sound system. Pony-lights! Trunk is sufficient. All the kids want to carpool with me. Cons, I worry about getting a ticket. I get rained on and sunburned. (oh well) Our BMW stops and handles better. There's not a lot of interior storage. The car is huge. I's longer than our '97 4 runner.
The fact that it's an automatic. A sporty car should have a manual gearbox
Pro… Has the same (if not more) than a number of previous GT mustangs
Cons… All mustangs are HORRIBLE in snow/heavy rain and cost a fortune to insure if you are under 25
Cons: It is a Ford. It is supposed to be a sports car, but with a V6 it is a grocery getter. It is already a year old so it won't be worth as much when you sell it. Did I mention that it is a Ford?
Pros: It ain't a Yugo.
- Pros and cons of upgrading alternator? I have a 99 ford crown Vic and it's about time to change my alternator. My last question about 2 weeks ago explains everything. But a stock alt for my car is 135 amps. I'm thinking of getting a 220 amp high output alternator to also support my stereo systems. There no other alternator just 135amp and 220amp. I'm just wondering will that produce too much power or no?
- Need help weighing the pros and cons of what kind of camper van to buy? So I plan on moving down to Nashville and living in a van in the very near future. I'm on the fence between 2. The first option is a 1988 Ford e350 diesel dually ambulance that has been fully converted. Running water, inverter, heat, ac. Pretty much everything in an rv besides a toilet. My second option is getting a cargo van and converting it or just getting one of those conversion Van's. I'm just not sure what my best bet is.
- Is it possible to get an automatic 2014 Mustang GT or are they all manual? My first car is more than likely going to be a 2014 Ford Mustang. I kinda want a Mustang GT but I don't know how to drive a manual and I don't recall ever seeing an automatic Mustang GT. Is it even possible to find one?
- Can you get a 2015 ford mustang and Chevy camaro in automatic transmission instead of manual transmission? Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2015 ford mustang or Chevy camaro. Both of the cars come in manual transmission! Is it possible to get it in automatic transmission instead? Can I just ask the dealer (dealership) to give me the car with automatic transmission or do I have to change it myself?
