Muscle cars with small engine?
Hi guys I'm looking for a muscle car that looks like ford mustang or dodge challenger but the problem is I live in europe and the engines like 5.2 are huge for my wallet so it there a muscle car that is like 4.0 or less?
MG ZT with the 4.6 litre V8 or perhaps the 2.6 litre V6
An old Vauxhall Omega 3.0 V6 (Elite or MV6)
Suzuki Kizashi 2.4
Chevy Corvette
Muscle cars have big engines. That's what makes them "muscle cars" in the first place.
Only way you can do this is ditch the v8, and look for the same car in a v6 edition. I would suggest waiting a few months and getting the 2015 ford mustang. Only the turbocharged V4 is going to be sold in Europe with 315 hp and 300 ft lb torque, so it is slightly more better than the 2014 v6 mustang. 2015 mustangs should in European dealerships by summer 2015.
Small engine means it is NOT a 'Muscle-Car". IF you live in Europe, you will find it hard to beat the bang-per-buck that you can get from a Toyota MR2 (mark2 version, Revision 4 or 5) - these cars have great traction off the line, even in the wet, as they are mid-engined - this also gives them EPIC grip and road-holding, and they have Toyota reliability, great economy for their pace, a light and airy cabin, and a set of the best brakes you will find on a car at any price. I have one - it doesn't have as much power as some cars I have owned, but you can use MORE of it than any other car, MORE often, so it becomes probably the fastest point-to-point car I have owned - and I've owned some good ones.
This car was known as the "Baby Ferrari" when it was launched, as it had a similar layout and style to the 308. Until a certain magazine compared them over a cross-country drive, when the MR2 romped clear of the Ferrari. Yes, they are a very effective car, and are available for a fantastically-low price. Get some Advanced lessons though.
I'm not familiar with European cars, so can't say… Just get whatever you like.
Eh… The term Muscle Car nowadays just means a heavy 4 seated car with good straight line performance or just looks the part.
Back in the day it was nothing more than a stripped down sedan (as in no A/C, no Power Brakes, no Power Steering) with cool sounding names, scoops, kid appealing graphic/stripes/mascots with a big sounding engine, which went completely dead by '75 due to emission control and the fuel crisis.
A true muscle car is an American midsize(huge to you) car, with a large engine. I think 6.5 litres would be the smallest. Some would argue there were small block musclecars (5.5 L or so), but most would disagree. There were 70s celica fastbacks that looked like mustangs, maybe you could make a mini-mustang. Or an Opel Manta. A Hyper pack Dart has a 225 ci engine(3.7L+/-) with a 4bbl. A Dart was a compact, not a mid-size, so it can't be a musclecar. A Hemi Dart GTS clone with a hyperpack would be as cool as any musclecar.
this pic is a 1975, hyper pack was not still available, but the 225 was
The Hemi Dart was second in acceleration to theearly Barracuda with a Hemi. Http://hotrodrestoration.blogspot.ca/201…
The problem with a 4.0 in a musclecar is that the car is So heavy for that displacement. A 1968-1972 Dart is under 1500kg. In 73 the bumpers started getting heavier.
Dodge Dart Hyperpack 225 4bbl is probably the thing you need.
Technically not a "muscle car" but a pretty decent pony car.
You may also find 6 cylinder mustangs, and chevy corvairs.
- Will any supercharge kit that fits small bolck engine fit a 302 v8 small block engine? Its a 1967 ford f100 project truck 302 small block v8 engine link to the supercharger kit http://m.summitracing.com/parts/vor-4gp218-050l?seid=srese1
- How much upkeep do classic muscle cars require? I have loved classic American muscle cars all my life and have finally got to a stage where I can afford one. But I don't want to invest if I won't have the time to keep it in top working condition. How much maintenance work/costs does it roughly require to keep cars like a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro or 1967 Ford Mustang in good working order?
- How much is car insurance for older muscle cars? I heard that car insurance is pretty expensive for older muscle cars, and I'd like to know around how much a month car insurance would be for a 1968 ford mustang?
- Good first car? NSX? Muscle Car? I'm 15 and starting to think of some cars that I would want (and are possible to obtain, '67 Pontiac GTO '68 Roadrunner Hemi '70 Ford Torino '79 Firebird Formula 400 '85-'90 Camaro '67 Impala '73 Nova '78 Camaro '66 Oldsmobile Toronado So, would the value of the NSX be worth buying and fixing up? And which, if any, muscle car is the top of your list and why?
