How good is a ford mustang convertible 2000 with 135000 mile?
As good as the previous owner maintained it… Ask for service records
As good as its been cared for and maintained. A quick look over the exterior and fluid level/conditions and drive ability characteristics can give a quick impression.
Like the others say try and see what services were done to the vehicle. Oil changes are the life blood of an engine. If you can't find services ask to take it to a Mechanic for a once over. Most will do a decent inspection for not a lot of money.
One bit of advice. If the previous owner is in their 20's or even early 30's and it/s a GT V8 mustang. It was very likely driven VERY hard. V8 Mustangs you have to take extra care as they are generally driven much harder then the slow as snot V6's from that year… I own a 3.8L 2004 Mustang… She's slow, very slow lol.
3.8 Liter V6's seem to have a good reputation for running a long time from the other Mustang Owners I have spoken with. GT's seem to need more work, but again they are driven harder by most owners.
- My 2000 Ford Taurus won't shift into fourth gear is it ok on a 700 mile round trip drive? I have a 2000 ford Taurus and it doesn't shift into fourth gear anymore. Its been that way for 2 years. It runs fine just doesn't shift into fourth gear and the transmission light does come on after a while of driving it. I was wondering if it would be ok to take it on a 700 mile round trip drive? I know its not good for it I just need to know if I'm going to be stranded on the highway somewhere because my trans went out.
- Where is the phone speaker for a bluetooth on a 2010 Ford Mustang convertible? I have a 2010 mustang and I can't find the phone speaker inside my 2010 ford mustang. I have seen where it is in other convertibles but can't find it in mine. And ppl are having trouble hearing me.
- Too Good to be true? 1997 Ford Mustang Convertible? I'm interested in buying a 1997 6 Cylinder Ford Mustang Convertible for $1500. The car runs very cleanly and it has like approx. 136,000 miles on it. The only problem is that it has been sitting in the sellers backyard for like 5 years. Could it sitting for that length of time have caused any major malfunctions that should prevent me from buying it? The seller has also said that the car has a new transmission if that helps any.
- Is a 2016 Ford Mustang Premium Convertible for $16,999 a good deal? The one concern I have is the mileage. It's at 73,564. Is that too high for a sports/ muscle car? It has been with two owners. Advice please?
