Honda Civic vs Ford Mustang?
So I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm a first year college student and I plan to go through dental school which should take me about another 8 years, and I'm looking to buy a newer car (about 2006-2010). My problem is that I'm not sure if I should get a Honda Civic Coupe or a Mustang. I can get them for relatively the same price, however, the Civic would be more fuel efficient, cheaper with insurance (at least I'm guessing so), and is a well known reliable car (to get me through the next 8 years or so). Then we have the Mustang which is just a badass car. Sure the fuel economy is not as great and my insurance would be presumably higher, but I don't mind paying the little extra fees for this car. My problem comes when knowing that it is a Ford, which is not amongst the top reliable cars and i really question if it would be able to last me through the years without having to do major repairs. If you were in my situation which car would you get? Please comment with details as to why as well. Thank you very much for your replies!
P.S. I already have a girlfriend so I'm not getting a car to pick up chicks lolz.
Get the Civic and save on fuel, insurance, and maintenance. You can get your dream car when you become a rich dentist.
It would be a smarter investment to buy a civic, but personally I would get a Mustang.
I would go with the Civic. Since you are in college you have to have money for unexpected things that come up. A Ford Mustang is not the ideal car. I have neighbors who own them, and while the cars are reliable there's the safety issues.
Imagine coming out of class and needing to hurry up and get home to your girlfriend. But as you walk out onto the parking lot you can't see your Mustang. You know you locked the doors and you have the keys in your hand, so where is your car. It has been stolen. Now you are going to have problems. Your girlfriend is mad at you for buying a stupid Mustang, a car many idiots also covet and because they are idiots they don't know how to go buy their own, so they take yours.
Idiots don't like Honda Civics. They can't go up to their idiot friends and say "I just found this badass Vic" but they think it sounds cool if they tell their idiot friends "Look what I found, isn't this a cool Stang?"
Then there's the gas and insurance issue. Why would you want to make the rich people any richer by buying a car that cost you way more money to insure when a much cheaper one will serve the same purpose. Both are cars. Cars and meant to get you from point A to point B and back to point A.
Yes, some idiots think that certain cars are "status symbols" or that a car "makes an impression". Like Elvis here who thinks you should get a Mercedes e55. I guess he thinks it is just a cooler car to sit beside the road in while he is waiting on the tow truck. Or maybe he thinks that Mercedes makes up for his "short" comings in the manly department. Either way, it is still just a car made to get someone from point A to B and back to A.
Quit worrying about being a big shot. Learn to be a good dentist that doesn't hurt people and work hard at helping your patients. Then you can earn respect and that, my friend, is worth more than any material status you can ever buy.

Well, if you want to spend like 15-20k on a car which I'm assuming that is how much they are why not look into a mercedes e55 from 2005-2006 or a c32 amg
- Toyota corolla 2016 or Use honda Civic? I know they both reliable car but people say buy american cars cause if you buy overseas cars like honda or toyota their parts will be More expensive but i don't want to buy a ford or a chevy cause they are not reliable but most people say if you take care of any car including fords it will be ok
- Would I be able to trade in my 2009 Honda Civic for this 1998 Mustang Cobra? http://www.maximumautosearch.com/1998-Ford-Mustang-SVT-Cobra-Englewood-Colorado-80113/5205315 My dream car has been a Mustang Cobra, I bought the civic because I thought I was going to college but I was denied. Well now I have a really good job and I can afford to have this Cobra. Would I be able to trade it in even though I still owe money on the Civic?
- Ford mustang vs honda civic? Assuming that I maintain both cars equally, which one do you guys think will last the longest? I want a long lasting car.
- 2015 Ford Mustang VS Subaru BRZ VS Civic Si? Which one should I buy for myself. I will use it mostly for driving pleasure. And which one will be the easiest to customize and maintain. And which one will impress my friends?
