What's the proper way to hook up these speakers?

I picked up a 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for a pretty rediculously low price. It does have some cosmetic issues. The only one I don't have any experience with is speakers. The front two speakers (in the door) were deffinatly not installed correctly. When I give them power the work fine but how do I do this right?Hey guys what s the proper way to hook up these speakers - 1

Connect the Positive speaker output from the amp or head-unit to the fatter terminal on the speaker - and the Negative speaker output from the amp or head-unit to the thinner terminal on the speaker. It will be obvious if the music is coming through loud and clear - it will equally be obvious if they are wired 'out of phase' and the speaker is trying to send bass thru the tweeters and treble thru the woofer part of the speaker, as it will sound muddy and just.plain.wrong.
The best way to tackle things such as this is always to have the help of someone who has done it all before, and can show you what to do, what not to do, and tell you why. How about adding a photo of your Mach1 in a question Edit? I only know what a 1970's Mach1 looks like, I'm in the UK.
