In theory. The big difference between gasoline and ethanol is the required mixture: 14.64:1 for gasoline and about 9:1 for ethanol. Methanol is more problematic because it is corrosive to aluminum through a process that converts the aluminum to aluminum methoxide.

Cars that have to be able to run on both gasoline and ethanol based fuels (flex-fuel) use a fuel composition sensor to determine how much ethanol is in the fuel it is getting at the time - that would be harder to integrate (except by the manufacturer) than it would be to simply change the injection for a permanent change in fuel. Ford has quite a few flex-fuel vehicles on the road today.

Any gasoline engine can be converted to run on alcohol.
