Misfiring problems on 1997 ford club wagon (van) 5.4 Lt v8?

I just bought a 1997 ford club wagon. 5.4 v8. When you match your speed and try to cruise my motor causes the whole van to vibrate hard. I think it's misfiring. It doesn't run rough when you accelerate or slow down. Everything else about the van is perfectly fine. This van has 283k miles on it. The gas sat in it for 8 months, i put some seafoam in it and high octane stuff. Could you give me a list of things you would do to fix my issue and any other maintenance you'd do to a old van? I'm thinking my misfiring problems is from bad coilpacks or injectors.

Check out the driveshaft or out of round tire or wheel. A worn out universal joint, bent rim or bad tire will cause vibration at cruising speed.

  • Shifting problems and intake problems? I drive a 1997 ford ranger with a 2.3l automatic. I have recently experienced a hard shifting in my truck even when I'm not on the gas it has problems shifting. And I cleaned my air filter and filter hose that goes to my throttle body and there was transmission fluid in the hose. What can be causing this and how can I fix it or how much will it cost roughly?
  • 2000 Ford Ranger Misfiring? I've got a 2000 Ford ranger 3.0 v6 that starting misfiring pretty bad yesterday. I had the code read and it said cylinders 4 and 6 were misfiring. I just replaced the spark plugs and wires about 2 weeks ago and have been driving it everyday with no problems until yesterday. Any ideas on what is causing it to misfire? Should I replace the two wires and plugs again or could it be the ignition coil or what? Any help is appreciated.
