How much is it to insure a Ford Ka 1.3i 3d?

Even though I haven't turned 17 (not for another year). But I want to roughly workout how much insurance, MOT, road tax etc so I can start to save up for it. I don't want to depend upon my Mum because I personally don't think it's right to constantly depend up on your parents. Is there any tips how to make insurance cheaper?

Added (1). I have been looking on all different websites. They've just got all different information.

Nobody can answer that as we don't know where you live, the value or age of the car
or where it will be parked
You need to do your own homework, either on the internet, or by phoning round
different insurance companies

Insurance for a 17 year old driver who has just passed the test is usually about £3,000 - even in a small car. You should reckon on needing about £5,000 to get yourself started, then about the same amount per year to run the car.

You don't seem like you;ve done any research other than what you;ve been told. Go to websites like comparethemarket.com put your details in for a random Ford Ka 1.3 and see who high it is. But i can;t imagine it being any less than £1,700. Your insurance isn't likely to change that drastically cause you going to be a first year driver. But tell the truth and don't lie, if you do have an accident insures see you lied they may not pay up.

Road tax: Likely to be £145
Insurance: £1,700 + without a doubt
Mot: Likely to be £600

I see christopher hit the nail on the head first time.
yes a lot more than most would like car cost on top and always buy as new as you could afford otherwise it will become a money pit.
servicing and repairs on top of any faults found during an MOT.
