Ford ka 2003 overheating problem

I have a 2003 ford ka collection i have bought the car 3 days ago the day i got it the fan turnt on and it was working however yesterday i was driving it all day and the fan never came on i opened the bonnet and there was no water so i filled up the expansion tank with water and antifreeze and i drove it this afternoon the temputare light came on on the dashboard so i pulled up to the side and there was no water in the expansion tank again the car is over heating the fan is not coming on can someone help me i have not checked any wires or fuses but where is a good checking point?

Do you see coolant leaking out anywhere? On the ground? If not, does the exhaust pipe have white smoke coming out? As far as the cooling fans not coming on that could be a bad relay or the fans themselves are bad.

  • Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
  • My 2000 Ford Ranger 6 Cyl 3.0 L has been overheating. Pretty sure its a radiator problem but odd symptoms? Truck exhaust will puff moderate amount of white smoke (every now n again) on cold startup but will subside after engine warming up.Truck "Was" overheating until i put more coolant in but realised cap was steaming along with coolant reservoir (reservoir was also bubbling). So i bought a new radiator cap. I got a safety cap and after installing I drove a little and engine temp goes to red really fast. What could it be? Thermostat? Water pump? Blown head gasket?
  • Ford focus 2003 1.6 petrol problem? Engine light came on after I drove through a little flood about a foot deep will it dry out or will I have to take to a garage
  • 2000 Ford Focus Overheating I have an 2000 Ford Focus Automatic. It recently started overheating about 2-3 days ago. So far what I've done is replaced the thermostat and filter. I also drained the hoses and added water. I went to AutoZone to purchase an radiator relay, but ultimately didn't need it because both of the fans are working properly. Any suggestions?
