2000 Ford Focus Overheating

I have an 2000 Ford Focus Automatic. It recently started overheating about 2-3 days ago. So far what I've done is replaced the thermostat and filter. I also drained the hoses and added water. I went to AutoZone to purchase an radiator relay, but ultimately didn't need it because both of the fans are working properly. Any suggestions?

Water pump

  • My 2000 Ford Ranger 6 Cyl 3.0 L has been overheating. Pretty sure its a radiator problem but odd symptoms? Truck exhaust will puff moderate amount of white smoke (every now n again) on cold startup but will subside after engine warming up.Truck "Was" overheating until i put more coolant in but realised cap was steaming along with coolant reservoir (reservoir was also bubbling). So i bought a new radiator cap. I got a safety cap and after installing I drove a little and engine temp goes to red really fast. What could it be? Thermostat? Water pump? Blown head gasket?
  • What could be causing my 2001 Ford Focus SE wagon to be overheating? Reservoir is full of coolant, new radiator hose put on not that long ago but the needle is almost in the red when I drive it. Could this be the water pump? If it were the bottom hose wouldn't I be very low or out of coolant?
  • My ford focus is overheating? My 2003 ford focus temp gauge suddenly started jumping after a long drive I thought maybe because it wasn't any coolant in so I went and bought some and the temp went steady for a min for then started to rise again. I thought it was my thermostat not opening but a car guy told me to check my relays BUT I can't find the relay to the fans theirs no description the temp rises when the car idles sometimes and goes down as I give it gas! I need help
