Just changed engine, need serious

Just changed an engine on a 2005 ford e250 5.4 L v8. The starter was turning the engine over several times (trying to get it to start) but it you won't fire up. The starter then fried up and replaced it and now only one click from the starter. New battery and still won't start. I think the engine locked up because now the crank bolt is not even spinning anymore. The engine was cranking fine and before i bought the engine i cranked it over several times… Could it be that the cylinders are flooded with gas from trying to start it so many times? Please help, i will try and remove the spark pugs tomorrow to see but i may be in bad luck, any help is appreciated…

It sounds like starter works its not in gaging need to have starter checked to find reason for not in gaging
