Is it true that if people understood our banking and monetary system, there would be a revolution?

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning - henry ford.

I do understand fractional reserve banking (banks lending out way more money than they have) and monetary easing (printing money) by the federal reserve. For all the problems that it has, I don't see how a revolution could get us to a better, more equitable system.

Not sure abut a revolution but maybe.
i figured most people know we have no gold to back up our notes!

Yes, they take advantage in every way. First principle is, as long as people have food in their stomachs and somewhere to lay their head down they tend not to riot. As long as people have a job and can take care of their family they tend not to rebel. Revolutions and Civil Wars start from government actions and then are affected by the people of the country. I think there's a cultural war but no chance of civil or revolutionary war. The best thing an individual can do is try to eliminate all debt. Try to live debt free because then no bank has any control over you. It's hard because we need to buy houses and such but if you go to school, consider a state school because at the end of the day owing 100k puts you into indentured servitude. Try to pay off your house, little or no credit card debt. Live simply, be spiritual, spend quality time doing simple things.

There's no more gold in them thar hills bro.

Doubtful. Most adults are pretty pragmatic about money and banking… They know they're a bit dodgy about paying on time and in full and they expect to pay for their occasional lateness

NO I do not think that people are totally ignorant of the system.

Few people understand the banking system, and people with limited understanding may be angry with the way things get done, but it would be stupid to cause a revolution. A revolution would not fix anything. It would only make matters much worse.

Possibly not
