Yes, it is true that generally, a President's economic policies don't kick in for 2-3 years. But I guess in this case Ford and others got an early start by 2-3 months. Hardly surprising. MOST Presidents don't use tariffs to destroy the economy.

FORD: "We're laying off people specifically due to Trump's tariffs".

Do you want no layoffs at any price? How about the cheating that China routinely does on patents? Is that worth taking action on even if it results in layoffs for some, or do you want to give away America's intellectual property advantages to China?

PS: Ford layoffs are, in part, due to the UAW -- routine labor in US factories still costs more than five times as much as similar labor in Mexico
