Why is my 06 ford fusion radio turning off while in reverse and drive?
In December of 2013 my car gave out on me and would not turn on or move, gear was stuck in park and had to get it fixed was told it was the computer in my transmission that had given out. Was in the shot until about February because they could not figure out what it was. Finally when I received my car back it seemed fine.
That night when went to use car turned on my radio and when I changed my gear to reverse radio shut off and when put back in park it went back on. The radio works when car is in park and neutral but while in reverse or drive it shuts completely off. I've been researching what it can be and have seen can be the transmission range sensor but I'm not sure due to the fact that it was working fine previous to getting my transmission fixed.
Does any one have any ideas of what is happening? Would greatly appreciate any help.
What shop? A dealer? One of the control modules or wiring giving you the problem. If it wasn't a realer take to them they just might know what's wrong
The dealer i had bought the car from sent it to there own machanic who fixed my car the gears had gotten jammed and wouldn't move from park so we had to use the emergency release button to change the gears. When I got my car back gears were fixed and they had fixed the transmission computer but now the radio is messed up and haven't been able to get ahold of the guy from the dealer that has the machanics number.
- Car judders in reverse and taking off? My car is a Ford Focus. It felt like a bad engine mount so I changed all three. Now the car has a stiffer judder from n/s. When jacked up there was play left to right in wheel but not up and down (not a wheel bearing problem?). Both lower arms changed recently too. I suspect a bad strut mount too, could it cause symptoms of bad engine mount?
- Radio not turning off when opening driver side door? My radio will only turn off when the passenger door is opened but not the driver side door. It's not the fuse. I have a 2005 Ford F150
- My car shuts off once in a while when in reverse? I have. A ford f 150 in line v6 1996. It shuts off very few times when reversing to the left or right. Also the lights dim from time to time when I'm at a stop light. I have a new alt and batt only a week old
