Quote on tie rod replacement?
I have a 2007 Ford Fusion 2WD, they told me my driver side tie rod boot had busted, they quoted me $247.00 to fix it, is this a fair price?
Lets modify your question: Tie-rods never have to be replaced as they are a straight piece of tempered steel threaded on each end for TIE-ROD ENDS. The best most expensive tie-rod ends are made by Moog and thet cost $23. And change. It takes 20 minutes to install it. Any time a new tie-rod end has been installed you really should have a four wheel alignment. No two tie-rods are exactly the same length which will effect the front wheel *toe-angle. An alignment at a Ford dealership will cost about $80.00.
If they do all of the above it adds up to $103.00 plus the labor to install the tie-rod end plus the labor to install the tie-rod end. Even if it took one hour the labor would only cost another $85.00 add these two sums together and you'll see, some idiot is trying to pull a fast one on you. H was it a ford dealer then maybe if it was not you are being ripped off.

- Where did my push rod lifter go? I have a 1973 Ford f100 with a 77' 351 modified engine, after taking off my valve covers I noticed one rocker arm was loose. We saw that the push rod wasn't touching and was about an inch and a half away and it doesn't have a lifter… And I'm a little concerned as to where it could have gone… Please help… How harmful is this to my engine.
- Why doesn't the clutch rod want to come out? I'm in the process of removing my 2004 ford ranger 2.3 clutch master cylinder. I already disconnected the electrical switch from the clutch pedal position switch, removed the switch, disconnected the pedal to the pushrod. The pushrod doesn't want to come out and O don't see anything holding it in? Any insight?
- Is it worth buying a car if the tie rods need to be replaced? I'm looking into buying a car and someone is selling a 2000 Ford Mustang for only $1000, but it needs the tie rods and muffler replaced. Is it worth buying?
- Looking for a price quote on a window problem on my car? I have a 2012 Ford Fusion that when I try to roll the window down it makes a crinkling noise. The window won't go down it just makes that noise when I push the button. I was curious if anyone knows what's wrong with it and how much you think it'll cost to fix
