Car with excessive body roll?
My car (2006 Ford Fusion) drives down the road straight however i notice a light side to side swaying that the entire car does. The steering wheel doesn't move and neither does the wheels. Just enough to be noticeable but doesn't effect driveability.
What i've done recently:
New shocks and struts
Alignment
All new front ball joints and tie rods
New tires all balanced
My suspicion is i need new sway bar links (they are the original links and the car is 9 years old). That would explain the "body roll". What's everyone else think? Any help is welcome!
Please, there's no point in asking invisible strangers online to guess as to what may or may not be happening to this, apparently, new car for you. I have a 2001 vehicle with close to 100,000 miles and it has the original ball joints and tie rods. I think your guessing has obligated you to spend money you may not have rather than to get a mechanic to evaluate the car, inspect it and then determine what, if anything, the car needs. Question. How do you know the "wheels" do not ('doesn't' is not a word in English) move if you are driving the car?
Wouldnt cause body roll if your driving straight down the road
- Do some car batteries that would fit a 1995 Ford Taurus SW have a smaller body/core than others? I recall that the last time I had a battery installed at Les Schwab they had a rough time getting it to fit properly. Took nearly two hours. Would it be possible to ask for a battery that is physically a bit smaller this time--or are they all exactly the same size?
- Did the Ford Ranger roll over when it was equipped with Firestone tires? I know of a Ford Explorer use to roll over in the nineties because it was equipped with tire blow out of Firestone tires. Ford Ranger at the time were also equipped with Firestone tires. If a Ford Ranger is equipped with Firestone tires is it really possible for it to roll over like the Ford Explorer.
- I want to learn how to make car body's out of mold? I want to learn how kit car body's are made for the classic Ford GT40's and other classic cars kit cars, what is a great learns guide for this or building car body's in general.
- Looking at trading my 2011 Ford with 80k miles in with an engine knock for a newer jeep Patriot with low miles, Roll 3k negative equity? Ford Fusion has developed and Engine Knock and another mechanical issue. Thinking about getting it repaired or trading it in for a newer Jeep Patriot with low mileage. I would have to roll $3000 of negative equity over to new loan. Any thoughts?
