What's a good punishment?
An 11 year old boy steals his dads car keys and drives the car around the block wrecking it into a fence. The car is not an expensive car, just a Ford Focus but will need a small dent removed and the front repainted.
What's a good punishment
Finding something that he enjoys doing, such as video games or watching tv and taking that away.
Slave labor to pay off the damage
I honestly don't even know what a good punishment would be for this id say take their phone away for sure take his/her bedroom door off and make them pay the car off. Not literally but if chores or something need to be done make them do it whether they like it not and a good *** beating too might work too in my opinion that's what my mom did to me when I was younger she would smack my *** real hard if I didn't even say thank you for something. You don't have to do all or any of these but he/she does need to be punished to make sure that this doesn't happen again cause if he does it again and he/she runs someone over or something YOU will also be responsible since he/she is a minor.
Leaving the kid grounded alone in a room won't do any good, however, to teach him responsibility he should be talked to, calmly, why this was wrong and be taken with when the car gets fixed.
My 12 year old son once painted over lights on a stretch of railroad tracks… Lights necessary for train safety. The Railroad law enforcement gave me the choice to take care of this or they would as my stepfather was a big mucky muck with the Union Pacific in the area. I took him to the local sheriffs office, made him sit down with a deputy while he read him the riot act. He told him they now had a file on him and anymore stunts like this and he would be arrested and taken to juvey. I had spoken to the deputy before hand and asked him to scare him straight… It worked! He also commended him for coming in with me and being a man about it all but assured him he was on thin ice.
Beyond scared straight program
My advice would be to link the punishment with the crime… Get him to help fix the damaged fence and use a some of his own money to pay for a portion of the repairs, depending on how much they cost and how much pocket money he has.
After finding out that he is physically safe about fifty or so bare but spankings so he can't sit down for a few days then take away phone allowance video games TV time, in addition to making him help fix the damage that he caused I would make him clean all of our house for about two weeks and do the laundry with his mum there to supervise him I might also consider making him join a volunteer club so he has less time to be naughty.
Make him work it off so he makes the money to fix it
