Should I get a manual or automatic for the driving test?

I live in Fort Myers Florida and I'm going to buy my first car in March but I go to take the test on October 12th 2016. I'm currently learning on my fathers 2007 Ford Focus Hatchback 5 speed and I'm struggling a bit but I'm starting to get the hang of things such as starting off in 1st gear. I can't seem to figure out how to do a smooth gear shift from 1st to second and it is a little rocky from 2nd to 3rd. But a question I have is if I take my test in an automatic if I chose to get one, will I be able to drive a manual if I upgrade in the future or do I have to take the test again in a manual down here in Florida. If you can give me any tips for shifting smoothly through the lower gears while up shifting I would highly appreciate it and other tips and tricks as well. (Auto or Manual for first car to pass the driving test?)

(Auto or Manual for first car to pass the driving test?) Yeah auto. You'll be nervous enough as it is. Without having to worry about shifting. You can get a manual later. You don't have to retest for it. Auto Manual cars are so cool. Most people drive automatic and I hear it isn't as fun. That's why only the Japanese cars and the sports cars are offering a stick shift. Try not to shift TOO fast and wait a second before you let up on the clutch. Automatic. So much easier during a stressful test. For a test, automatic. You can still drive a stick shift car legally, you just have to get good. Lol. As most mentioned, automatic. It is much easier to concentrate on the driving that way. You can learn manual after you get your license and are comfortable with the experiences of driving in general.

  • Is it possible to get an automatic 2014 Mustang GT or are they all manual? My first car is more than likely going to be a 2014 Ford Mustang. I kinda want a Mustang GT but I don't know how to drive a manual and I don't recall ever seeing an automatic Mustang GT. Is it even possible to find one?
