Should I buy a 2000 Ford Focus SE as spare car?
Btw I already brought a 2017 Honda Civic on Dec 2016, I want to buy this but just only as spare car. I have a new friend on facebook selling his 180k $900 Ford and my uncle will repair and replace all the parts to run as new.
No, that's still a bad deal after you count extra insurance and registration.
If you live in an area that gets snow and road salt, you could drive the Ford in the winter and keep the Honda rust free. If not, I don't see the point of taking up extra driveway space.
If you can afford it… Go for it… You never know when you need it.
Might need a new engine at 180K miles. Could keep it for short trips around town or when other car is in for service. Need to check the oil pressure on the engine of the Ford and other service needs. $900 sounds like it needs at least $1,900 in repairs or a whole lot more than the car is worth.
Why. Your Civic is such a reliable car that you will not need a spare. Besides for what you pay to register and repair the Focus, you can rent a car for the few days every few years your Honda may need repairs.
My son in law has a 2010 Civic with 200,000 miles on it and has never been stranded from a breakdown.
- Should I buy this used Ford Taurus 2000? Planning to buy a Ford Taurus 2000. It has 140,000 miles on it. The condition of the car seemed pretty good. The price was fixed on $1200. But when I checked with a mechanic 1, he said that the ball joint and the sway bar of the car might need to be replaced soon. And also says that the front right wheel makes a little noise. Should I still go for this car?
- How to remove the lock from my bumper that allows access to the spare tire on a 2007 Ford Fi50? I have owned the truck for 3 years and fortunately I never needed my spare tire. Two days ago I had a blowout and only then did I discover the lock was frozen and won't turn. I have tried using penetrating oil several times since, with no luck.
- Where can I buy a spare tire replacement? Last week I blew a tire on my car and used the space saver spare that came with my 2014 Ford Focus. I drove about 50 to 70 miles on it until i replaced it 2 days ago and the tire place I went too put the spare back. Id rather replace it in case i blow another tire because I think I used all the life out of the spare.
- Should I buy a Ford Focus Zx3 or should I look for a different car? I'm a male going to college as a sophmore next semester (this car will be my first car). Should I buy a stick or an automatic (I don't know how to drive a stick at the moment, but I'm willing to learn)? What do you think would be more fun? Do you think a ford focus Zx3 is a good car for me or do you have any other car suggestions?
