Resale value bad on ford cars?
I bought a focus and i've had it for 9 months and it has depreciated 13000 dollars, or 54 percent. My msrp was 24000… Is this normal of ford cars? Should i avoid ford?
You may be comparing new sticker price to used wholesale or trade in price.
You must be comparing the wrong numbers. No way it depreciates that much. What did you actually pay? Nobody pays msrp. You have to compare to the true market value at the time of purchase. How are you calculating the value now?
You buy new you lose about 15% in the first week. The rest varies but it sounds like a very low valuation fo a 9 month old car. Unless you've scraped it and it looks a mess
Buying cars for resale value is like dating girls in the hope of getting your pants hemmed: it could work, theoretically, but you're missing the entire point.
- Why would people buy older foreign cars instead of brand new American cars? I see it all the time, people driving 7-8 year old Mercedes or BMWs that they paid probably paid around $20,000. They could of easily gone out and bought a brand new Ford or Dodge, but they didn't. They bought a Mercedes with over 100k miles. All worn and torn on the inside. But aslong as they're shining on the outside I guess.
- Why are some Ford cars (like the Taurus and Focus) such unreliable cars? I'm looking at cars in the $3000 - $4500 range and I'm noticing a decent amount of Ford Taurus's and Focus's and out of all the cars that I see, these are two cars that just seem so unreliable. I test drove a Focus last year and it sounded like something was wrong with the engine.
- Bad fuel pump or bad Mass Airflow sensor? My truck us having very hard time starting up. It cranks over, putters and shakes really bad then dies. Once it finally becomes drivable, it almost stalls when accelerating from a stop or turning right Could this be a bad fuel pump, bad MAF, or another failing part? Truck is a 2006 ford ranger
- Old classic cars vs newer classic cars?
