P1747 Code.03 Ford Focus?

My car has been shifting a little crazy. It jerks and delays when it tries to shift. No check engine light has came on at all, but I knew something wasn't right. I took it and got it scanned and the code P1747 came up and said

"Pressure control Solenoid A Short Circuit" No clue what this means. I googled it and it says something about a Solenoid so I sent in for a quote at a tranny place near me, haven't heard back yet as its 10pm. I can't sleep because I'm stressed out, and was curious if this is going to be hell to fix or very expensive?

Hm

Go to the dealer… A tranny joint is going to tell you that you need a rebuilt transmission. A rodent may have chewed the wiring harness that runs to the transmission. The other thing may be the solenoid A shorted internally. It's replaceable.

The shft solenoids are not too pricey to swap. But you have to drain the trans, and remove the pan. Just 1 bolt/plug on a solenoid… All easy just messy. Solenoids can go bad (short or open). You can find solenoids on eBay. I'd try that before letting a tranny shop replace it.

If that is the only problem it is not a difficult repair but will cost you $100+.
