Drove with little to no transmission fluid?

I drove 15mi to work and was having a major problem. I don't know much about cars and asked a coworker to look at it. My coworker checked the fluids and showed me there was no transmission fluid. And if there was, it wasn't showing up on the stick. This was the source if the problem… And there's probably a leak somewhere.

Because I drove so far without it (which is a miracle on it's own), did I ruin the transmission?

It's a '01 ford focus… I don't know if that matters.

Car Spun Out Twice on highway? Why?

Okay so I'm pretty young, 18, and have only been driving for a year and a half. I'm a decent driver though and do a lot of highway driving as I commute 40 minutes to school each day. Today my friend and i were driving home on the highway, it was raining quite a bit, and when we were going up on to the highway, only about 35 mph, we spun out. Luckily didn't hit anything. We thought it was a freak thing so we kept going, very slow, like 30 mph. Then it happened AGAIN when we were slowing down to go down a ramp to get off the highway. We spun out and luckily only hit a rail very slightly. I want to know what I can do to prevent this and the future and if anything, like worn tires, can make spinning out more prone to happen? It just seemed strange as we were going very slow and still kept spinning out. I have a 2004 ford focus if that matters.

Screeching noise from front left wheel on a 2013 Ford Focus SE - what is it?

Cars got 30k miles on it. Its still has 6k miles until factory comprehensive coverage ends so I'm not persay worried, but I would like to fix this problem myself if its a simple fix and not expensive rather than take it to the dealership.

I ain't got much experience with cars so I want to expand my skillset.

Here is a youtube video for the noise. Sorry for the wind, its very windy today in Colorado.

2001 Ford Focus has rust?

My friend has this car and I noticed some rust spots below the driver and passenger doors. I'm not sure how bad the rust is but I was wondering how long would a car last with rust? It had like 150 thousand miles but runs great. To factor in we live in Ohio so it gets pretty snowy in winter.

Should I get a new car or wait until mine dies?

I have a 2006 ford focus and I'm tired of it. I've had it for 5 years and it has 143,000 miles. It has never had any engine problems and as far as I can tell it still runs fine. I want a new car though! Mine is so basic and boring and I see better cars out there everyday and it makes me depressed especially because the people who have nicer cars than me are somehow less educated or younger or just dumb in general. I've always been frugal and have money saved up and I know a new car will take away like 1/2 of my savings. I have been working hard for like 5 years to save up to go to graduate school but I feel like I never buy myself anything or do anything for myself. I don't want to blow all my money but just having basic stuff is so depressing to me for some reason. I feel like by this time in my life I should have a better car. I'm almost 30. Am I just succumbing to "keeping up with the Jones" or to the peer pressure of society? Or should I just do something good for myself for once?

2007 ford focus alternator problems?

2007 ford focus alternator problems?

Added (1). We bought this car about 4 years ago and I have had to have the alternator replaced 3 times. I have had alot of problems with it. Is there something else that can be wrong with my car that is causing to go bad? The first time i took it to a mechanic and he had it replaced it and it was good for about 2 years then it went bad again i went to O'Riley and got a new alternator and had it replaced. That one lasted 2 months then went bad again.

Front window buttons on the driver's side for my 2006 Ford Focus ZXW (Wagon) are unresponsive?

So, the situation:

The driver's side front window buttons do not seem to work. They both - I think - failed simultaneously. The back window buttons, on the same panel, do work.

But, the windows probably do work, as while the driver's buttons don't work, I can operate the passenger window using the passenger button.

I don't know if this is connected, but they failed after some [expletive] person broke my driver's mirror off, and a month later I found the window buttons weren't working, but I hadn't used them in between.

What I've done:

I thought it's probably a wiring issue, so I took the door panel off, took everything apart, but I didn't find anything suspicious, and put it back together to find no change. Honestly though, I don't really know what I'm looking for or where to look. I've also tried swapping out the window control fuses for ones that I know work, and that didn't help.

Can anyone give me suggestions for what to check next? I'm more comfortable doing extensive tear-offs now that I just moved into a suburban house and I'm not working in an apartment parking lot anymore.
