Left turn signal light on dash stays on when headlights are on?
So i just replaced on my 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 both the headlight bulbs and sockets due to burn outs. I replaced the sockets with high temp sockets. However once i finished, i noticed that now when i turn my headlights on, the left turn signal stays constantly lit on the dash AND the left turn signal no longer works (with or without headlights on). I'm pretty confident and matched up all the wires correctly when splicing and crimping cuz the headlights themselves seem to work fine (as fas as i can tell, still not night time here yet). I'm really confused as to what the heck could be causing this…
It's a ground issue! Usually common sense says don't fix what's not broken…
If it worked before you did the job, then the job screwed it up. I don't recall ever seeing burned sockets in all of my years owning a car. Did you install HIDs or something.
I can't possibly even begin to guess without a wiring diagram. Sounds like the headlight ground is being supplied by the turn signal.
- Where are the turn signal fuses? 1995 bounder RV? Our 1995 Ford fleetwood bounder's turn signals don't work and we have to go across country tomorrow. We can't find the fuse box that holds them! There are no RV mechanics in the area either! The Manual only says it's under the instrument panel… Please help!
- Can I be pulled over for a fast blinking turn signal? Both my left and right turn signals blink fast, but when I put my hazards on, they work normal. I got out, and all four LED's work, but blink SUPER fast. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger, and am not sure what's going on.
- My front right turn signal isn't working on my 2014 ford transit? I replaced the bulb and it functioned for only a day. I switched it with a working bulb but it still flashes fast. Do you guys know what the problem is?
- My Ford Transit headlights turn on in off position and turn off in the on position? I'm a new driver, just passed my test. My van has some issue with the lights: namely, the lights turn off in the on position when the dash lights come on, and turn on when they are supposed to be off. This means that I'm driving at night without dash lights as I need to have the lights switched off in order for my headlights to be on. Might this be an electrical issue? Would anybody be able to give me advice and possibly know how much this costs to repair?
