Is a 2014 Nissan Sentra SV good in the snow?
I just recently got a 2014 Nissan sentra SV, and its a sedan, four door car. I believe it's front wheel drive and I live in Wisconsin where when winter comes, a crap ton of snow comes. I owned a 2004 Ford Focus before hand and it was horrible and I always slid and spun out. I'm just wondering if my Nissan will be good in the snow or should I change my tires to help?
It will be much like your previous Focus., but a good set of snow tires will help.
It will be no better than the Ford in the snow. Basic princuples -
Front wheel drive on snow - steering is lost and car ploughs on straight and off the road nose first
Rear wheel drive in snow - grip lost by drive wheels causes rear end to come round and the car goes off road rear first
All wheel drive - same as FWD but gets moving a little better from a stand still
Tyres - on snow there are no tyres that you can practially use that will make any difference.
I don't blame the car, there's no car truck or four wheel drive vehicle that can handle everything that might happen but the driver can understand it is not a good time to drive. And if I had a brand new car the decision would be a lot easier.
- Should I trade my 2014 Nissan Maxima base for a 2011 Ford Mustang Base sports package? It would be a even trade. The Mustang has the Mustang sports package with includes pipes, and a upgraded engine. Any suggestions. I would be trading a 2014 for something that is older, but better. My maxima has a sunroof, and power seats, and the Mustang doesn't.
- Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, Nissan Altima, Ford Focus, Kia Forte? I'm having a really hard time choosing between which car I want. I'm 22 years old, I'm in college. I want a car that's fast, reliable, good on gas, and one that's able to keep its value.
