Is a 2012 Ford Focus a good first car?
I'm 16 and I want to buy my first car. Me and my parents have debated over many different kinds of cars. I usually want a large 4X4 SUV but, they're not overly impressive with fuel economy. I asked my dad if a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium would be a good car for me. He said that it would be. I really do like the newer Focus. I'm having trouble deciding on which body style I want. There are 2 choices. The first choice is the sedan and the other is the hatchback. Which style do I get? Also, can I test drive a car on a permit? Can I get a good deal on one ($10-$12,000)?
Added (1). Do they have remote start?
Have you thought about the Kia Forte? Its attractive front end, great handling, impressive MPGs and a modern design make it an excellent choice. We recommend stopping by your local dealership and take one for a test drive.

I think a Focus would be an excellent first car. They get good fuel mileage, and they are sporty. The hatchback has a bit more of a youthful look, though, so I would consider that. As to whether you can get one for $10-12,000, probably not. If you find a 2012 at that price, make sure you really check it out before you buy. The average price for a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium hatchback is $17-19,000 in my area. However, it may differ slightly where you are. If you find one that you like, I would use a website like www.kbb.com to see if you're paying a fair price. The laws for test driving on a permit vary, and even if it is legal, you may not be allowed. It's up to the person selling the car, if it is legal, to decide whether they want to allow it or not.
I Would Recommend A Hatchback Which Is Small And Cheap Should have good Mileage
Yea. I think hatchback is better option for you
I wouldn't get one myself. Their transmissions are not very smooth or reliable.
You were right initally with the larger SUV. For the amount of driving you are going to be doing, gas millage isn't going to make a difference. You will spend like $300 more per year on an SUV. That is pennies.
- What car would be better for me 2012 infinity g37 sport or a 2012 mustang gt? I'm 18 and I'm getting ready to get a new car in 2 months. I've been driving an 03 Ford Focus and I'm ready to upgrade. I'm a very responsible driver and I've been driving for almost 4 years. So I wanna know what would be the best vehicle for me. And what is more reliable and cheaper to maintain?
- Is the 2012-2014 Ford Focus a good car? I'm a 19 year old male and I'm looking to get a new car in the next year. I'm debating between a few different models but I'm looking at the 2012-2014 Ford Focus Titanium. Most of the time, it's only me in the car and I would be doing a lot of traveling with it. I know the Focus has good MPG but, is it reliable? I've heard some bad things about the transmission. I was also thinking about the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion SEL.
- Is a Ford Focus a good first car? It would be a new 2014 titanium. Our family friend works for a dealer and could get us a great deal on one.
- Is a Ford Focus a good first car? - 1 I'm going to college in a couple months and my parents got me a 2013 SE Focus automatic. Is it a good car? Reliable? Safe? Should I expect to pay high insurance? I think the car still has an original warranty if I'm not mistaken.
