High pitched beeping sound inside dashboard?

I have a 2012 Ford Focus. For the past month or so, every single time I turn on the car, a loud, persistent beep will go off for 16 times. 16 times exactly, then it will shut off and not happen again until I turn on my car again. Sometimes it won't happen, but only if the car has been turned off and on again within a 2 or 3 minute time span. What is this?

Does the car start and run without any issues? If it does, I would not worry about it. If you are annoyed by the beeping, take it to a mechanic who will likely rip out your dashboard, 6 to 8 hours labor and then tell you he could not find anything wrong.

Go to Focus forums and see if other cars are having the same issues. I'm guessing here but it might be related to the car's anti-theft system.

  • What are the two little microphone looking things in the corners of my dashboard? Where the dash meets the windscreen in my 96 ford falcon, but I've seen them in other cars too. They are about the size of thimbles and are on the ends of wires.
  • 1986 ford ranger dashboard warning lights? I have a 1986 ford ranger 4 cylinder and on the instrument cluster i can see all the light bulbs for the warning lights. The cover that actually tells you what each light is has been missing since i bought the truck used. If anyone can tell me the order of the warning lights so i can wright it down and make a chart so i know what it is when it lights up.

  • 2008 Ford Mustang - The passenger side under the dashboard recently leaked I took it to a Firestone recently and they said I had to take it to the dealer or to Ford directly. Called Ford and they said it would be $130 just to even look at it. The dealership I bought the car from is closed for good now. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to fix this yourself rather than having it fixed? The passenger side leaks everytime it rains but it rained heavy the other day and now the carpet is flooded.
