Ford Focus rear windows falling down. What to do?
There are 2 ford focuses in the family, a 2000 and a 2001, both SE that are having the same strange problem. The 2 automatic rear windows on both cars are falling down. Meaning if you park the car, turn it off, and go inside, the windows go down, and you can move them up and down from outside with your hand. They feel very loose. Its worse in rain or cold. All we've been able to do is use tape or try to wedge something in them. The dealership said a repair would be $400 per window.
What is causing this, and what can be done to fix the problem, or at least solve it. Or at least something better than tape and a piece of cardboard to wedge in the glass.

The Ford Focus uses a cable style regulator to control rear window movement. It is common on these cars for the cables to break or come free from there pulley assy. When you push the window button up or down you probably hear the motor running but no window movement and possibly a crunching noise.
You will have to replace the regulator assembly. They are available from Ford complete with motor from $95 to $140 depending on the side.
You will need to remove the door panel, unclip the window from the regulator by pushing out the two piece plastic pin and then unbolt and remove the regulator.
Reverse removal procedure to install but reassemble the two piece plastic pin into the glass first and hold glass in full upright position. After regulator is in place lower glass onto clip in regulator and push down firmly until it snaps into place.
If your not very mechanically inclined you may want to have this done by a professional mechanic. It should cost about an hour labor for each side. My colleague had this with her brand new one. Take it back to Ford - there's a fix. Sounds like the window regulators are broken. Ford Focus Fuel Pump

- Rearview mirror keeps falling? Stupid ford and their cheap plastic. My rearview mirror keeps falling and I've tried rearview mirror adhesive to Krazy Glue and it doesn't work. I live in Florida where it's usually like everyday. Is there an adhesive that can withstand this temperature on a day to day basis? Because I don't what else to do, I can't merge safely without the rearview mirrior
- I have a 02 ford focus and both passenger and drivers windows are not woring. Could it be the fuse? When I try all the switches there's nothing. I have had a window problem before and it was just one window and you could hear the motor but no action. This time both windows don't work and can't even hear the motor trying. If it's the fuse I have no idea which is for the winDow. I have fuses under glove compartment and in bonnet?
- How to fold down the rear seats in a ford focus? I'm trying to fold down the rear seats in my 2003 ford focus SE. I just can't figure out a way to get them to fold down. Does anyone know how you do it? Or even if they fold down? It says something about it in the owners manual but it makes absolutly no sense its like reading japanese.
