Ford focus rear drum assembly with bearings?
I own a ford focus 2001 zx3 with rear brake drums. This morning I replaced the rear drum assembly that comes with the wheel bearings already. I managed the reinstall the new ones with no problem. So I went around the block to do a drive test, and the rear wheels started to make a sound like woawww woawww woawww. What this could be? I installed everything with the torque specifications as well. (I cleaned the drums and 30 mm nut with brake cleaner, prior to installation). Any idea of what could this be?
Could be several things but essentially bearings not correct.
Did we over or under tighten.
Did we fit correct way round?
Noise stated is common for over tightened…
Standard procedure for many is torque up and back off a half to one turn. Rotate wheel and check for vibration, tightness, sticking spots. It ought to spin freely. Here it would be best to view how to fit or change bearings on say you tube before hand. Garage can of course refit and check for you.
