Engine Malfunction - Service now? Ford Focus 1.0 Eco boost?

I have had my Ford for just under a month now and it has only done 500 miles.
I got in the car this morning and put my key in the ignition, put it in gear and tried to pull off but it wasn't moving - it then started beeping and flashing up with he message "Engine malfunction - Service now"

I took the key out put it in again and the same message flashed up for a matter of seconds and then everything was fine.

Not long afterwards the message is popping up saying my washer fluid is low - which was correct… Is this my car sending me the wrong message before had? Has anybody else had this problem and can help me?

Why would you post a question like that here? Because no matter what we say, it's gonna have to go back to the Ford dealer for repairs. You can't start messing with this on your own without messing up your warranty coverage. Call the dealer, tell them the message you're getting and they'll either tell you to drive it in or they'll send a tow truck.

Our opinions are worthless in this case. It only matters what Ford wants you to do.

Also don't forget to search this on Google.

If it's brand new take it back to Fords immediately

Hi if it is brand new yes the first 500 miles it needs a service which is free. They change the oil. It will be full of metal shavings off parts of the engine.leaving them in there's not a a good idea as it increases engine wear.
this new 1.0 litre engine is a 3 cylinder engine small with a turbo to get the power output. Needs regular maintenance to keep it in tip top condition.

Something is malfunctioning for sure. Since is brand new take it to ford. They will fix whatever the issue is for free. Just be persistent with them if they try to make you pay
